Position AvailablePost-doctoral Fellow Position in Health Disparities and ObesityJohns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Baltimore, MD(posted 10/15/2009) A post-doctoral research fellow position is available in the Center for Human Nutrition under the Department of International Health, in the Bloomberg School of Public Health of Johns Hopkins University. The candidate may be involved in several ongoing research projects depending on his/her background and research interests. Projects will relate to the following topics: health disparities, childhood obesity, health interventions, and the influence of family characteristics and parenting styles on child health. Research projects will examine associations between social, behavioral, and environmental factors and risks for chronic disease such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, and type-2 diabetes. Some of the projects are funded by the NIH, while others are US-based, international projects, or based on existing data, which provide good research, training and publication opportunities under the guidance of Dr. Youfa Wang. Ideal applicants should have a PhD in human nutrition, epidemiology, or a related field with previous research experience, strong data analysis and communication skills.
