
Position AvailablePostdoctoral Fellowship In Eating Disorders and ObesityChildren's Hospital Boston Boston, MA(posted 1/14/2010) A Postdoctoral position is available to work with Dr. Alison Field, who has faculty appointments in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital Boston, the Channing Laboratory at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. Her NIH-supported research projects include empirically defining eating disorders among adolescents and young adults; understanding the development, course, and consequences of eating disorders and obesity among children, adolescents, and young adults; and identifying the determinants of weight gain among young adult and middle-aged women. The position will involve epidemiologic analysis of data from large prospective cohort studies, writing up of manuscripts for publication and preparation of grant proposals. Contribution to new hypotheses is expected and first authorship on manuscripts is encouraged. The successful candidate will have recently completed a doctorate degree in Epidemiology, Behavioral Science, or Psychology. Criteria for selection include demonstrated experience in the area of eating disorders or obesity, strong potential to become an independent investigator, interest in project areas, excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, a strong potential to work independently, and good verbal and written communication skills. Experience in statistical programming and data management is highly desirable. Applications are due March 15, 2010 for start dates in the summer of 2010. Full Time The position is compensated according to the NIH post-doctoral stipend scale.
