
Position AvailableTenure Track Assistant or Associate ProfessorUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Chapel Hill, NC(posted 2/22/2010) The Department of Nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for a tenure-track position in the division of intervention and policy. Candidates should have a proven track record in public health nutrition research in one or more of the following areas: diet, physical activity, behavioral or environmental interventions; global/international nutrition; nutrition and health communications; or nutrition/food policy. Research experience in theory-based interventions to improve the nutrition and health of individuals and communities and to reduce health disparities is strongly desired. Evidence of strong research design and methodological skills is essential. Successful candidates will develop and maintain an independent, externally funded research program, mentor students and teach graduate level courses related to intervention or policy. A PhD in nutrition is preferred, although candidates with a PhD in a relevant discipline will be considered. The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health is actively committed to diversity.
