Assistant/ Associate Professor - Exercise & Nutrition

The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences, School of Public Health and Health Professions, University at Buffalo, State University of New York, is seeking one Assistant/Associate and possibly a second Assistant Professor for 10-month tenure-track faculty positions. The start date is negotiable. 

Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in a discipline relevant to exercise and/or nutrition sciences.  Postdoctoral research experience is required.  A record of achievement in research with publications in high quality journals is expected. Candidates for Associate Professor are expected to have an established and current record of extramurally funded research.  The candidates’ research should complement existing departmental research strengths in biomechanics, exercise physiology, or nutrition as they relate to public health.  The candidates’ academic goals should embrace the school’s mission to improve the health of populations, communities, and individuals through disciplinary and interdisciplinary education, research, and service. 

The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences (http://sphhp.buffalo.edu/ens/index.php)  is one of the academic units in the School of Public Health and Health Professions (http://sphhp.buffalo.edu/index.php), which is one of five units in the Academic Health Center including: the School of Public Health and Health Professions, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy, and School of Dentistry.  There are well-established research programs and excellent facilities available within the Department, School and Academic Health Center. 

The Department offers a BS in Exercise Science, a BS/MS in Exercise Nutrition, a Dietetic Internship with Advanced (Graduate) Certificate, MS degrees in Nutrition and Exercise Science, a combined Exercise Science BS/MPH in Epidemiology and a PhD degree in Exercise Science with biomechanics, exercise physiology or nutrition emphasis.  The University at Buffalo is a comprehensive, research-intensive public university dedicated to academic excellence.  With 27,000 students, it is New York’s largest and most comprehensive university.  The Western New York area provides a highly livable environment rich in music, theater and professional sports, in addition to the advantages of its location on the international border with Canada.
