Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor

Auburn University, Department of Nutrition and Food Science

Position:


Assistant/Associate Professor in Nutrition with a focus on obesity/weight management or related area. This appointment, which is scheduled to begin August 16, 2010, is a 9-month tenure track position with a competitive salary and start-up package commensurate with qualifications and experience. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.


Responsibilities:
 

The selected applicant will be responsible for 1) maintaining a strong extramurally-funded research program in basic or applied/clinical research in an area of obesity or related field; 2) directing doctoral and master’s students; and 3) contributing to the graduate and undergraduate teaching programs.
 
Qualifications: 

Ph.D. in nutrition, physiology, biochemistry, endocrinology, epidemiology, behavioural sciences or related field with a strong record of research and university instruction. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.  Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English.
