There is a new addition to the Obesity Online Slide Library: The Dyslipidemia of Obesity and the Metabolic Syndrome by Ronald M. Krauss, MD. The metabolic syndrome is increasing in prevalence and is associated with the development of diabetes and cardiovascular consequences. This slide talk presents data on how weight loss, combined with treatment for the other risk factors associated with the metabolic syndrome, has been shown to reverse all components of atherogenic dyslipidemia and reduce the risk of onset of adverse cardiovascular events.
