The following committees are in need of volunteers:
ADVOCACY: Responsible for tracking legislative and regulatory activities that relate to the obesity field and determining the best approach for addressing the issues, with guidance and approval from Council

AUDIT: Responsible for planning and carrying out the annual audit in conjunction with the Society's auditors (2 open positions)
CLINICAL: Advises the Society on matters that relate to the clinical care and/or treatment of obese patients (5 open positions)
DEVELOPMENT: Responsible for identifying potential philanthropic, governmental or corporate sources of funding and supporting activities to generate revenue to support Society activities (8 open positions)
DIVERSITY: Responsible for developing and implementing policy to ensure representation of individuals of diverse backgrounds at all levels of the Society, including at the annual meeting (4 open positions)
EARLY-CAREER: Responsible for representing the interests of the student/post-doctoral and early-career faculty members of the Society (3 open positions)
EDUCATION: Responsible for planning and coordinating the continuing education courses, including CORE and other pre-conference sessions and education activities (other than the Annual Meeting) (6 open positions)
ETHICS: Responsible for acting as an advisory committee to Council of the Society on policies concerning ethics, conflicts and misconduct (2 open positions)
FINANCE: Responsible for oversight of the financial records of the Society as provided to the Treasurer by staff (2 open positions)
MEMBERSHIP: Responsible for recruiting new members, supporting retention programs, and reviewing the credentials of all individuals applying for membership as a Fellow in the Society (4 open positions)
PUBLICATIONS BOARD: Oversees the official publications of the Society and makes recommendations to the editor-in-chief, publisher and Council for the improvement and expansion of the official publications of the Society (3 open positions)
PUBLIC AFFAIRS: Responsible for informing members and non-members about national issues of concern in obesity research and treatment (3 open positions)
SCIENTIFIC REVIEW: Responsible for reviewing and scoring the scientific content of grant applications related to the study of obesity for the Society's grants program (4 open positions)
