Obesity Treatment Guidelines
Clinical treatment guidelines for overweight and obesity were released in November 2013, and the full report was published online and in print by The Obesity Society in July and August of 2014. Find the full report here and more about ordering a hardcopy edition here.
Obesity, blood pressure and cholesterol experts - many of whom are Obesity Society leaders - have developed these comprehensive treatment recommendations to help healthcare providers tailor weight-loss treatments to adult patients affected by overweight and obesity. The joint guidelines were published in the The Obesity Society’s journal Obesity, the American Heart Association journal Circulation, and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Childhood Obesity Resource Guide
This project was made possible through a grant from Covidien. The Obesity Society partnered with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) to develop a resource that would provide the basis for a toolkit for Community Health Centers (CHCs) with information on childhood obesity treatment and prevention for providers, patients, families, and community stakeholders. This is the Beta version of the kit that will be used to evaluate its effectiveness in the community and in selected Community Health Centers.
The Practical Guide: Identification, Evaluation, and Treatment of Overweight and Obesity in Adults
This guide was developed in cooperation with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). It is based on the Clinical Guidelines on the Identification, Evaluation, and Treatment of Overweight and Obesity in Adults: Evidence Report developed by the NHLBI Expert Panel and released in June 1998. The panel used an evidence-based methodology to develop key recommendations for assessing and treating overweight and obese patients. The goal of the guide is to provide the tools you need to effectively manage your overweight and obese adult patients. 78 pages.
