ObesityWeek Goes Mobile! Letter from the Executive Director

Dear Colleagues,

ObesityWeekSM is right around the corner - just two weeks away - and I’d like to give you a bit of an overview of some of the new technologies and communications we’re incorporating into the conference this year. First, we’d like to involve all attendees, and Obesity Society members, in sharing the excitement during the event with fellow attendees and followers around the globe. We’ll be live-tweeting and updating social media channels, including Twitter, @ObesitySociety, and Facebook, TheObesitySociety, using the hashtag #OW2013. This year, we’re excited to have a live tweet board at the TOS Member Service’s Desk where you can stop by and see everything attendees, sponsors, exhibitors and media have to say about #OW2013.

We’ve also launched a new Instagram profile so you can post photos of your fun times in Atlanta and share them using #OW2013. Please keep in mind that photography is restricted during the meeting and allowed only in the hallways of the Convention Center, the non-poster areas of the Exhibit Hall (with exhibitor approval), and at all of the social events.

We’ve also moved the daily conference newsletter, ObesityWeekSM Daily, online! This will be emailed to all meeting attendees each morning of the conference providing a teaser for what’s the come that day, and highlights of the day prior. I encourage you to keep an eye out for this publication – it will give you meeting highlights, don’t-miss events and activities, as well as meeting news coverage. OW Daily will also be available via a link on ObesityWeek.com and on the meeting app (yes, we have an app!).

ObesityWeekSM is going mobile, and registration includes free access to the app where you can view the schedule, find important information and guides, respond to surveys and polls, and connect with other attendees. You can now get early access to the app. Find our how to download the app and login here.

I hope you find these new and updated tools helpful in navigating the conference. We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta!
