 ealthy Eating Research is a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Fo
 undation (RWJF). The program supports research on environmental and polic
 y strategies with strong potential to promote healthy eating among childre
 n to prevent childhood obesity\, especially among lower-income and racial 
 and ethnic populations at highest risk for obesity. Findings are expected 
 to advance RWJF’s efforts to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic by 2
 015.   \nThis call for proposals (CFP) is for two types of awards aimed at
  providing key decision- and policy-makers with evidence to reverse the ch
 ildhood obesity epidemic by 2015. The award types are: Round 7 grants and 
 RWJF New Connections grants awarded through the Healthy Eating Research pr
 ogram. \n \nApproximately $1.9 million will be awarded under this CFP for
  the two award types.\n \nRound 7 Grants\n\nThe Round 7 grants represent 
 the majority of RWJF’s investment in research through this program.\nApp
 roximately $1.7 million will be awarded through Round 7. Each grant will a
 ward up to $170\,000 for a maximum funding period of 18 months. \nConcept 
 papers may be submitted at any time until August 9\, 2012 (3 p.m. ET).\n\n
  \nRWJF New Connections Grants Awarded Through Healthy Eating Research\n
 \nThese grants are to support the research of new investigators representi
 ng populations and communities historically underrepresented in childhood 
 obesity prevention research\, including researchers from underrepresented 
 ethnic or racial minority groups and lower-income communities and those wh
 o are first-generation college graduates.\nUp to two RWJF New Connections 
 grants will be awarded through the Healthy Eating Research program in this
  round of funding. Awards will be for 12- to 18-month grants of up to $100
 \,000 each. \nDeadline for receipt of concept papers: May 22\, 2012 (3 p.m
