An Expert Roundtable from The Obesity Society
The Challenges We Face: Obesity affects more than one billion people worldwide, contributing to an ever-increasing risk of cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, diabetes, and other related comorbidities. It is therefore incumbent upon healthcare providers across the globe to recognize obesity as a chronic, progressive disease and to provide compassionate, comprehensive care that improves the health and quality of life of those affected.
Program Description: Obesity has reached epidemic proportions globally, posing significant health risks. Despite this growing crisis, healthcare professionals often lack the comprehensive training, resources, and interdisciplinary support necessary to effectively manage obesity in diverse patient populations. To address these critical gaps, a global initiative must be established to develop and implement comprehensive educational frameworks, facilitate knowledge sharing, and advocate for policy changes that promote effective obesity management practices worldwide. To support this effort, an international expert roundtable will be streamed live after ObesityWeek® 2025 and will address the state of obesity and its management worldwide.
