The Brown University School of Public Health invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure-track) position in the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences. The expected start date is July 2027.

We seek exceptional candidates who will develop or continue an independent, innovative research program focused on chronic disease prevention, particularly in cardiometabolic health, obesity, and diabetes, with an emphasis on the behavioral and social sciences. We particularly welcome applications from researchers who conduct clinical or community intervention research targeting modifiable risk factors for cardiometabolic diseases (e.g., physical activity, nutrition, and sleep) and/or the evolving landscape (such as GLP-1 use).

Cleveland Clinic

Description:

The Bariatric and Metabolic Interdisciplinary Program (BMI) at Cleveland Clinic is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated Obesity Medicine physician to serve as Medical Lead for the obesity medicine program. The Medical Lead will provide clinical and strategic leadership for the obesity medicine team within Cleveland Clinic’s BMI Program. The successful candidate will oversee and support medical obesity care, working closely with bariatric surgeons and a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Training and/or substantial experience in obesity medicine and bariatric care
  • ABOM certification
  • Mid-career level experience in obesity medicine practice
  • Demonstrated interest in multidisciplinary care, program development, and team leadership
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills
  • Interest in academic medicine, education, research, and clinical trials is highly desirable

Nationwide Children’s Hospital

Description:

The Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine offer a comprehensive approach to weight management in children. Our initiatives and programs focus on prevention, advocacy, and the medical and surgical management of childhood obesity, with a strong research component. The Center is staffed with physicians, nurse practitioners, dietitians, behavioral psychologists, physical therapists, a social worker, and nursing and administrative staff. In addition to educational activities for medical students and residents, the Center supports a childhood obesity fellowship program.

Qualified candidates for this position will be BC/BE in General Pediatrics, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Adolescent Medicine, Pediatric Endocrinology, or other pediatric specialties with a strong interest and/or prior experience in clinical care, teaching, research, advocacy, or project management related to childhood obesity. Opportunity to have a dual position in Primary Care or another appropriate department is negotiable.
