CALL FOR PAPERS: 13th Annual Obesity Journal Symposium

Showcasing the Journal’s Top Papers at ObesityWeek® 2025

If you have a high-quality manuscript ready for submission, the editorial team of Obesity wants to hear from you. Your manuscript could be part of the 13th annual Obesity Journal Symposium to be presented at ObesityWeek® 2025.

The spirit of the Journal Symposium is to showcase the breadth of innovative research being published in Obesity. New data from pediatric studies, bariatric surgery, basic science, preclinical studies, intervention trials, and behavioral physiology are welcomed.

The editors will select approximately five papers to be presented at the Symposium during the annual meeting of The Obesity Society at ObesityWeek® 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia, November 4-7, 2025.

Selected Symposium papers will be published online during ObesityWeek® and in a special section of the November 2025 issue of Obesity.

The Symposium event will be promoted to the obesity research community and to the media. Read Symposium papers from previous competitions here.

Selection Criteria and Submission Rules

The editors will prioritize state-of-the-art papers dealing with the following:

  • The translation of findings from the lab to the clinic and from the clinic to the community,
  • Innovative clinical or translational studies that challenge current paradigms.

To enter the Symposium competition, you must submit your article at our journal submission site. On the submission question “Is this submission for a special issue?” please select Obesity Journal Symposium – ObesityWeek 2025″ from the menu. Please also submit a cover letter that mentions the Obesity Journal Symposium.
